Netball Waikato Region extends a warm welcome to all players, coaches, umpires and supporters attending the
2009 Upper North Island Secondary Schools Tournament.

The Netball Waikato Region is pleased to host the 2009 Upper North Island Secondary Schools (UNISS) Tournament being held at the Hamilton City Netball Centre from 31 August to 4 September.

Teams participating in this tournament will be part of the largest netball tournament in New Zealand, with a total of 92 teams competing for places in the New Zealand Secondary Schools tournament to be held in Timaru in October.

Players will have the opportunity throughout this tournament to be selected to trial for the New Zealand Secondary Schools team to compete in the annual Trans Tasman tournament. This is a fantastic opportunity for players to advance their playing careers and we wish all players well in their endeavours.

The staff of Netball Waikato Region and all the volunteers that have worked tirelessly to put this tournament together and will continue to be a large part of this tournament as the week progresses, earn special thanks from the Board of NWR. Without the selfless work of all these people, this tournament would not be possible.

To all those taking part this week, the players, coaches, umpires and supporters, we wish you a challenging and successful week. Remember you are all role models and provide the inspiration for our young players. May you all enjoy your games, competing in the spirit of fair play and participation, giving your all and being rewarded for the effort you put in.
